East Coast Trip Extra Notes

One thing I want to add to the East Coast trip is from the Philly trip.  I did mention something creepy happened, but I never explained it.  So here's what happened:

Me and Chokee were heading back to our car from Reading Terminal market.  We had to head through a tunnel to head back, but it wasn't like a scary tunnel.  The tunnel actually connected to a convention center.  What creeped us out was when we were walking some guy approached us holding a large garbage bag and asked "Hey, do you guys know where I can dump a dead body"  We just kept walking, a little bit faster at this point, and the guy goes "I gotta dump this body, it's my girlfriend" or something like that.  So at that point we just walked faster without looing back and tried to get to the car as fast as possible.  We drove back through the tunnel to head back to the freeway and I saw the guy talking to whoever was working in the garage/loading area in the tunnel.

What a freaking creep man!!!!!!!

Day 8 - On the way Home!

Date:  August 22, 2010 (Sunday)
Time:  9:24 AM (EST, airplane time)

WOW!  I just had the biggest pee attack ever!  The damn coffee I chugged so it wouldn't spill in the seat pocket, then the 15 min nap just hella inflamed my bladder.  The seatbelt sign turned off later than usual so i had to wait even longer.  Made a break for the bathroom as soon as the sign turned off.  Enough about my panic haha.  So on the plane and heading home.  LA first then Oakland.  It's a 5 hr 24min flight so lets see how long before I got to go again haha.  Now that the trips over, lets talk about the past week.

Tuesday:  Baltimore.
It's nice, very old fashioned.  Camden Yards has one of the nicest ballparks I've seen so far.  very classic.  What I didn't like was that it's dirty in some places.

Wednesday:  Philadelphia.
Favorite place of all.  must be the urban area that I like about it.  Very SF like.  I didn't like the parking situations and that's pretty much it.

Thursday:  Washington DC
I loved all the buildings and monuments.  So much history and so much to see.  I didn't like how everything is so far away from each other, so lots of walking.

Lastly, Friday:  New York
Now I really liked New York, but there are more cons than pros.  And I think it's only because of the heat.  Other than that I wouldn't have hated the subway (which I would love), walking, the people, the areas... Haha.  Really though.  I would love New York if it wasn't so damn hot.

Anyways, Imma nap again hoping I don't have to pee again so soon.

Time: 1:10 PM (EST, on mobile).
I slept a good chunk of the flight.  Apparently there's a little under an hour left of the flight, but I might've misheard the pilot.  I'm needing to use the bathroom again, but I can wait until the airport.  I Just want to get home..
There's hella clouds we're passing through right now so there's hella turbulence, which is why I woke up earlier passing through the Rocky Mountains.  I think we passing through Arizona right now.  All I see is desert, or it could be in San Diego-ish area.  Well, the pilot just said half an hour left, so we definitely passing through San Diego area.  I'll update with stuff later if I missed anything or something happens.

Day 7 - Last Night!!

Date: August 21, 2010 (Saturday)
Time: 11:48 PM

Last night in Maryland, last night in the East Coast.  Finally heading home!  I like the East Coast, but will not miss the weather.  Can't wait for the nice California breeze.
Didn't do much today.  Breakfast at Dennys, went to the cemetery to visit my uncle, then shopping at a mall in Columbia.  Ate at Cheesecake Factory for lunch, then headed back to the house and took a 2 hour nap.  Picked up some crab for dinner and some to take home (4 pounds).  I think I ate about 8 crabs for dinner! I love the Old Bay Spice.  Hope I can find a can at the airport since I didn't buy it in Baltimore on Tuesday.  I just finished up packing most of my stuff, but still got some smaller things to put away in the morning.  I should get to sleep now.  Got to wake up at 5 and finish up whatever and get to the airport.  Flights at 8:45, got to get there by 6:45, but still need to repack the crap we're bringing home.

Anyways, updates later on the plane!

Day 6 (day 5-6) - New York

Date:  August 21, 2010 (Saturday)
Time:  1:23 AM

Hit up NYC today.  Woke up at 4 AM, got ready and left for the bus pick-up at 5.  Got there early and waited until the bus picked up at 6 AM.  Bus ride was 3hrs, got to NY and was amazed at how big all the buildings were.

Got dropped off at Rockefeller Plaza in front of the NBC experience.  Went straight to the train station and got metro cards and headed to Ground Zero.  Ground Zero was amazing.  Still can't believe there used to be buildings there.  Now it's just a construction site.

Headed back onto the train and went to Chinatown.  Chinatown was boring.  Not much to see.  Some guy on a bike totally checked me out and said "hubba hubba hubba" Thanks guy! -_-
Anyways, after BK in Chinatown, took the train to the Met/Central Park.  Met wasn't free so we left for Times Square.  Times Square is amazing!  I wish I got a chance to see it at night, but even in the day it was pretty dope.

Train again and went to Empire.  The wait to go up was too long so we just left back to Rockefeller.  Hit up the Nintendo store and that was the end of the trip.  On a time limit from when we arrive until 6 PM.  I'd write more but I'm sleepy.  Details later!

(author's note: Yeah, my days are all off, so excuse what I write in the title and the dates that I wrote them.  I didn't get a chance to update everyday since I was so tired at the end of each day)

Day 4 - Washington DC

Date:  August 19, 2010 (Thursday)
Time:  10:57 PM

Going to bed soon since I need to wake up at 4, but wanted to update where I went today before I forget.

So today was the DC trip.  I've never taken the amtrak before, so from the get-go it was an adventure.  Only took 30min and 2 stops.  Straight out of the station was a bunch of shopping places.  Almost seemed like an airport terminal.

Stepping outside of Union Station, I was amazed at how large everything was.  Statues, buildings, parks, monuments.. it's crazy!
Bought our "tourmobile" tickets so we get shuttled around instead of walking.  Headed straight to Arlington cemetary at around 10 AM.  Got to see John F. Kennedy's grave, Arlington - Robert E. Lee House and a bit of the changing of the guards at the amphitheater and the tomb of the unknown soldiers (from the tram though).  Headed back on the tour mobile to go to the Lincoln Memorial.  Was able to take a couple pictures from the memorial of the reflection pool and Washington Monument.  Tour mobile next was to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum.  This museum was huge!  So got a ton of pictures from there and spent a hefty chunk of time looking around.  Headed back to the station since we ran out of time.  The tour mobile only lasted from 9:30 to 4:30 with the last pick up by 4.  Forgot to mention we visited the White House Visitor Center after lunch at the Lincoln Memorial.
Also around the Lincoln Memorial was the Korean War Monument and Vietnam War.  There's so many things that I keep forgetting what we did!

From the mobile, saw the Jefferson Memorial, Capital building, White House, Thurgood Marshall's grave, all the Smithsonian Museums, Holocaust museum and a whole bunch of other things I can't remember now.  All I know is, I got a hefty amount of sightseeing done.  Before headed back to the station, went to the postal museum and bought collectible Philippine stamps from a long time ago.  That's the only souvenir I bought on this trip so far.  That's kind of sad Haha.

Anyways, I'll explain more of this trip later.  Got to sleep early.  It's 11:17 now and got to wake up at 4! Yikes! Going to NY tomorrow. Update later!

Day 3 (day 2-3) - Baltimore and Philly

Date:  August 19, 2010 (Thursday)
Time: 12:25 AM

Still awake.. Can't sleep, so I'll update what I've been up to.
So our flight Monday had 2 stops.  A plane change at Denver and a stop in Kansas City.  not too exciting, but the flight felt like forever.
Once landing, Immediately felt the humidity hit.  It felt disgusting outside.
After eating dinner here at the house, had a walk around the mall here: Arundel Mills.  It's so damn huge! One story, lots of walking.. just like Great Mall.

Yesterday just spent the day in Baltimore.  Took the light rail to Camden Yards and headed straight to Inner Harbor.  Got to see the boats/Marina, lots of shopping/food places and just the tourist spots.  At 12, got scared because the Navy ship shot a canon and had no idea it was coming! Haha!  Got a bit dehydrated since it got hot around noon.  Stopped into the Barnes & Nobles to rest and cool off then headed back out to Lexington Market for lunch.  This place has a whole bunch of restaurants and produce to buy.  My lunch was subpar: California rolls and a miso soup with an ice tea.  The ice tea was so sweet that it just tasted like sago juice.

After Lexington went to visit Edgar Allan Poe's grave.  Was a bit taken aback because I didn't know it really was a buriel ground.  After went straight to Camden Yards.  bought $9 tickets for upper reserve then chilled in the Sports Hall of Fame lobby until gates opened.

@5, headed in.  Camden Field is so pretty!  Very old fashioned, went down during BP to try to get Mariners' Autographs.  Balls weren't coming our way so I put on my Mariner's shirt and called out to Jason Vargas for a ball.  He tossed it over, but a kid intercepted and knocked it back into the field.  Jason was like "what? that's not for you.  It's for the girl.  Can't you see she's wearing the blue!" He tossed it back to me. Haha.  I was so excited.  Very content!
Watched a bit of the game and left at mid 8th when the score was 1-0 Mariners.  One the way home, heard the score ended 4-0 Mariners!
Went to sleep at 1 or 2 and woke up early for Wednesday's adventures in Philadelphia.

Chokee and I left at 8 AM and headed to Philly.  Came across 3 toll plazas $2 in Baltimore for the tunnel, $5 for turnpike in Delaware and $4 for turnpike in Philly! Hella Expensive!!
Accidentally put in the wrong address and ended up at the planned last stop first.  Redirected the GPS to the Eastern State Penitentiary.  Took pictures outside then left to the Museum of Art, AKA, The Rocky Steps!
Took a run up the stairs then headed to Independence Hall, Liberty Bell Center and the Visitors Center.
Got to see the Liberty Bell and it's history, and the Visitors center.  After went to get lunch at Pat's King of Steaks!  So good!  Hella anticipated it.  It was huge and their fries were good.  I was scared to order, but it went smoothly.  After headed to LOVE Park and saw the infamous L-O-V-E sign.  Smaller than I expected.  And I had no idea it was next to a fountain.

Went to Reading Terminal Market.  Found the Man v. Food restaurant he stopped at, then looked around.  Looks like Lexington Market.  Got creeped out on the way back to the car, but I'll explain that later.  It's late and I needa wake up early to go to DC tomorrow morning.  I'll update again, maybe on the bus to NY.. who knows.

Day 1 - Off to the East Coast

Date: August 16, 2010 (Mon)
Time: 5: 33 AM

Yes!  Another travel vacay to go on.  On the way to Baltimore for a week.  Yeah I know our flights hella early, but we get to the East coast at around 5pm so good compromise.  Just waiting to board.  Chokee's gone to the bathroom so what a better time to write.  NVM he's back.  I'll update on the plane since we'll board soon. Btw, first stop over in Denver, Co!

Time: 6:51 AM PST
On the plane chilling, waiting for snacks.  Completely booked flight so not much room unfortunately.   Getting me some coffee soon.  Trying to stay awake, don't know why, just feel like it.  Heard we're landing in Denver early, maybe 15-20 min.  Hope that means our other flights get early too.  So we can get to Baltimore early!
I'm going to rest for now.  Gotta use the bathroom soon, but you didn't need to know that.
